Tatiana is a professional with a double major in Finance and International Relations from Universidad Externado de Colombia in Bogotá, where she was born.
She has co-founded a series of business ventures and was featured among the top 25 young entrepreneurs under 35 at the Youth Entrepreneurship Summit in 2011.
Tatiana’s an award winning professional in finance and business development (including the Benjamin Franklin Award and an Excellence in Nonprofit Program Management Award).
People, living life to the fullest & dancing are some of her top passions.
Tatiana believes focusing on what we’re passionate about leads to our success. Growing up, her love for Indiana Jones, travel and connecting with others led her on different professional journeys, where she discovered her ‘treasures’ of choice:
Even though these ‘pearls of great price’ hide in plan sight, harvesting them is an art form.
That’s what she’s here to help you do: to find the treasures inside of you so you can bring them out into the world.
Tatiana holds a Masters in Spiritual Science and is completing her thesis for her doctorate in ministerial counseling from Peace Theological Seminary in Los Angeles, CA.
As an ordained minister of 20 years in a non-denominational church, she believes: the human expression is limitless, spirituality is as natural as breathing, service is the highest consciousness on the planet.
This is why for over 25 years, she has dedicated her life becoming aware of herself as ‘a soul having a human experience’ & sharing her message that you don’t have to give up your humanness to be ‘spiritual’.
Tatiana believes that in order to make a positive difference in someone else’s life, we must learn to see them with this ‘holistic’ approach and embrace the multi-dimensional aspects of the human expression.
If you’ve ever wondered if you’re doing what you were born to do, or that your dreams are just smoking’ mirrors, you’re not alone!
I think it’s safe to say most of us have been there. I certainly have.
I wanted to go after my childhood dreams but most of the time they seemed to allude me. I almost turned my back on them at one point so I could stop feeling the pain of “failure”; of not achieving them. Has that ever happened to you?
Perhaps you have this dream you’d like to turn into a reality but the world seems to be telling you to stop fooling yourself and to give up.
Or perhaps you’re ready to let go of one of your passions because you’ve been told you need to only focus on just one.
Before you do though, I’d like to invite you to re-visit your childhood dreams and consider they hold a key to your success.
Growing up I wanted to be a dancer. I really never took professional dance classes. In my culture, the academic role was a priority and dancing was a way to socialize; not so much a career option.
In high school I was a captain of the cheerleading team (more like an American version of a dance squad): my dance opp. 🙂
Because I got so much joy out of dancing, I wished everyone who was trying out could make the team.
So I made a promise: as long as they showed up to practice every single time with an awesome attitude, they’d stay on the team. Dancing skills weren’t even required.
Close to 100 girls tried out, made & stayed on the team. We won nationals that year!
In life, showing up for our dreams is rewarded. Even when we don’t know how, ‘the willingness to do something gives us the ability to do it!’
Unlike most conventional coaches or ‘business gurus’, I don’t believe in the ever popular hustle nor do I encourage it.
By definition, it’s a forceful action, hurried movement, unceremonious direction. (WTEff ?!)
Instead, I encourage commitment, microscopic changes & patience.
‘Working hard’ is also overrated in my book. (Gasp). It can be a subtle self-defeating pattern to show ourselves or others how busy-‘important’-we are.
Instead, doing something with heart & soul can keep us going (working) for days while still being renewed.
But I had to learn this the hard way.
In my early 20’s I moved back into the U.S. (I grew up between Colombia and the U.S.) and was ready to finally become a professional dancer, even if as a hobby.
The year before, I’d been working so hard I’d sleep on average 1-2 hours per night. I was probably in that stage where I still thought I shouldn’t be making mistakes or ‘failing’ so I did everything to avoid that. I was exhausted, worried, stressed out and I got very sick. I was diagnosed with a fibromyalgia which left me bed-ridden just as I’d begun taking Salsa ballroom classes!
It was bye bye dancing queen and hello to some of the most painful and scariest days and nights. I saw 100’s of doctors in both countries, spent tens of thousands of dollars, and always got the same answer. Either,”there’s nothing we can do” or some variation of “perhaps it’s all in your head”.
But I wasn’t buying it. I was not about to give up.
Even though the suicide rate for that specific condition was on average 89-92%, and the condition was so chronic most doctors didn’t give me any hope, I was fortunate to come out the other side! 🙂
I’d packed my bags and moved to California, changed my job, diet & lifestyle; found an amazing doctor; upgraded my mindset and practiced more self-love than I’d known in all my years in personal development (self-love is a never ending story). I did everything I knew how to do (and then some) to heal.
I was now living near my long-time mentor and best friend John-Roger. One of the most helpful moments was when he called me over & told me I needed to be patient with myself because it would take time for me to heal. Relapses could discourage me but I needed to keep going.
About 7 years later, I was dancing Samba along Hollywood Blvd in Los Angeles pain-free!
It took 3 more years of healing and adjustments and other life lessons but I was finally ready to go for one of the dreams I’d left on hold!
Dancing had kept me going initially. I could envision myself celebrating life through dance.
Yet, having another passion lined up helped me to move on past the time lapsed. It was time to dream yet again!
WOOHOO!!!! I was now ready to follow in the footsteps of my childhood hero, Indiana Jones! Traveling the world in search of hidden treasures, exploring the unknown, finding sacredness in plain sight…
I managed to figure out a practical way in which I could merge my passion with my lifestyle.
I unleashed my ‘Latina Indy’ & gave my inner entrepreneur a voice and voilá: The Genius Spot was born!
It’s a story that’s just begun and I hope you become a cherished part of it.
No ancient wisdom, no new knowledge could ever replace the sweetness of a LIVING person realizing their value and contribution to the world.
I share all this with you because we all have our challenges that may seem to get in the way of our passions and dreams.
We can turn them into our victories if we’re patient with ourselves, willing to get creative & to endure ’til the end!
There’s no time-stamp on your success; no set way to go about it and no set definition on what YOUR success needs to look like or how many passions you are permitted to have!
I’d love to assist you in following your passions & succeeding on YOUR terms and in a way that honors ALL of WHO you are!
Getting lasting, positive results doesn’t need to be one more chore you need to fit in your schedule. It can be easy, fun and effective. I can show you how.
